    My Dearly Beloved.. …
My Dearly Beloved…Look At The World .. There Is A Nervousness In The Heart Of Governments as Well as Big Business. The People Are Looking For A Man To Fix It, it was man who placed us in this dilemma. The Greed Of Those In Power Breaking The Backs Of The Poor and Middle Class is not going to stop by pouring $700 billion Dollars into a failed Financial System. Where There is no change in the hearts of man, and expecting change. JESUS is The Answer. Doc

    “one of us” also …
“one of us” also include Clarence Thomas, Condeliza Rice, Colin Powell?
Does Obama’s politics have anything that benefits us?
McKinney IS one of US. Politically is one of US. With 5% of the vote will have funding so WE will have political leverage (National Green Party funding) so WE can get what we ask for.

You needs to wake up unfortunately. We need housing, jobs, healthcare and we will NOT get that from Obama. Obama’s not as bad as McCain but not as bad is not enough for most of US.

    It’s NOT smart for …
It’s NOT smart for blacks to waste votes on someone who has no chance of winning. Voting for McKinney as great as she is, is ignorant of voting and irresponsible. Voting for McKinney will take votes away from Obama thus leading McCain to a straight victory. WAKE UP PEOPLE!!! Voting for McKinney so late in the game will hurt us more than help us. We should raise her up in 2012 not now. McCain will win for sure if we use our votes on her and not on the one of us who can win–which is OBAMA-2008!

    With 6 terms in …
With 6 terms in congress, Cynthia is IMMENSELY practical. She’s working to build a VIABLE Party. In addition to 230 elected Greens they have the ballot access in over 20 states.

There may be more ballot access states as a result of her campaign.
Thousands of people are being trained in state ballot access (petitioning and local campaign management) as a result of this campaign. This too will make for more viable elections.

  5. seecraig says:

    People are NEVER …
People are NEVER taught the above in school and it’s NEVER mentioned in the media. They want to lead people to believe such a vote is wasted.
Many states parties get ballot access by passing a threshold in the Presidential election. That ballot access give LOCAL Green Party candidate a MUCH BETTER chance of winning (over 230 elected Greens already at the local level.

The above two things (5% nationally, getting state ballot access) means the Green Party becomes competitive.

  6. seecraig says:

    The Electoral …
The Electoral Collage and not individual votes, decide elections. Win a state by 1 vote or a million, no difference. IN the MAJORITY of states your vote for a major party candidate will make NO difference.

On the other hand if Cynthia McKinney gets 5%, the Green Party gets MILLIONS of DOLLARS and will be reasonably in 2012 Presidential elections. Few People know that is how one becomes a Nationally Funded Political Party.Iin MOST STATES a vote for McKinney is worth more than for a major party.

    I tell you what.

    I tell you what.
We’re scared. The general thinking is that these would be votes thrown away. There is no denying that we are forced into this two party mentality, when, ultimately, there is no difference between a Dem. and a Republican.
I do feel there is a difference between left and right, liberal and conservative, but at their level, only money and power drive things.
Convince me I don’t have to vote for the lesser of two evils AND that I didn’t throw my vote in the trash.

  8. seecraig says:

    Apparently the …
Apparently the point may be that people continue to vote against their interests. The vote for candidates who will not support single payer health care for example. They can vote for candidates who really want a clean environment rather than paying lip service.

Strange critters some humans are. If they voted for McKinney and Nader, they’d win. So why don’t people vote for what they want. That’s all it takes.

  9. chefrick03 says:

    I hope the attitude …
I hope the attitude expressed by j97hou6 does not form the base of Mckinney supporters.
If it does, she will certainly loose.
Denial of food, medicine, and AIR? AIR?!!

  10. seecraig says:

    Isn’t it …
Isn’t it interesting how polls show congressional approval down around 20% yet most people will re-elect the incumbents. It’s always the “other” congress people “at fault.”

Most people have no idea what it takes to put a candidate on the ballot. They complain a candidate is “invisible” and have no idea what funds the “visible” candidates.

There’s a major disconnect and/or serious denial going on.

It’s hard to break through but I have to hope we can break through. Lives and freedom at stake.

  11. 65CL says:

    I agree, whenever …
I agree, whenever possible I vote for challengers of imcumbents, Independents, and Third Party candidates. Most people do not do that because they fear their vote will be “wasted” in taking a chance with someone or a Party they do not fully support or understand. In reality by supporting the 2 main parties and the more stablished candidates and incumbents they keep the broken system in place with little chance or real change. Talk about wasting your vote on the “lesser” of two bad choices.

  12. seecraig says:

    And so our …
And so our challenge is to reach people. If we don’t, it is their quality of life that will continue to decline. I do find it amazing though that people accept such decline. It’s as if the will to survive and to improve one’s self and the world is gone.

  13. j97hou6 says:

    The vast majority …
The vast majority of americans are subhuman. They do not need nor deserve money, land, air, water, food, medicine. Unfortunately, that burden rests upon the rest of us.
Absolutely, seecraig: McKinney and Nader CAN win. But pushing that button or lever is simply too mentally abstract and difficult for most americans to do.

  14. seecraig says:

    The ONLY way …
The ONLY way they’ll be a change in the electoral college or a move to run off voting is if there’s a REASON to. Congress is resisting that for a reason - TWO PARTIES. When a 3rd party gets that 5% and takes advantage of it in the following presidential election. It may change.

    Change comes from leveraging POWER.

McKinney intro’d legislation in the House in the ’90s to allow VOLUNTARY PR for Congressional election. They ignored it. It isn’t going to change unless people VOTE for 3rd Parties.

  15. 65CL says:

    I know, the magic …
I know, the magic number for independents and third parties is 5%, but until the electoral college is eliminated or reformed. Or the results of elections are tabulated not in winner take all but awarded to the top three or more contenders few real changes will come.

  16. seecraig says:

    Imagine a cabinet …
Imagine a cabinet that can REALLY get things done for the PUBLIC BENEFIT.

Folks all you have to do is collect the signatures, sign the petitions and the pull that leaver or push the button or punch that chad (and don’t let it hang!).

We get what we want if we’re willing to do that work.

  17. seecraig says:

    Actually 5% …
Actually 5% establishes funding for the Party (Green Party) and the candidate (McKinney). With that funding the party and the candidate are much more viable in the following election. The next funding threshold is 15% and at that point the funding is on par with major parties (in effect becoming a major party).

5% is the crucial big step and that’s a realistic goal. After than the chance become much better since there’s much more money for the party.

  18. j97hou6 says:

    If McKinney/ …
If McKinney/Clemente win, I hope and believe she will find a position for Nader/Gonzalez in government, and vice versa.

  19. 65CL says:

I hope that is the …
I hope that is the case and that she learned something about the politics of being an outsider from the times she served the Democratic Party. Only time and the continuing decline of the two main parties (Democrat & Republican) will tell if she nade the right choice or at the right time. The only real way an Independent or third party movements can show they are ready to play ball will be by winning 20% to 25% of the votes in local, state, or national elections in a regular or national basis.

  20. seecraig says:

    I’ll bet she felt …
I’ll bet she felt compromised by the “restraints” the Democratic Party tried to put on her. She’s now free of that. In fact that’s probably why she went Green. Actually it’s kinda like the song she’s talking about in this speech. You know what being in a bad relationship do. She’s now in a much happier and supportive relationship.

  21. 65CL says:

    She went Green?, …
She went Green?, wow the Green party used to be a respectable option for protest and local election votes, I hope that she changed as a politician and a person as well to qualified to be representing the Green Party now. her history with the Democratic party is not too great for sure. I wish her the best anyhow now that Nader is becoming a shadow of himself in the past.
